Paldor Peak is a popular trekking destination northwest of Kathmandu and southeast of Ganesh Himal. These trails connect the Karpu Danda, Tiru, Mailung Khola Ridge, and the Trishuli Riverside. Climbing to Paldor Peak in a remote location provides an appealing trekking path for the mountaineer. During the 1949 monsoon, Bill Tilman, Tenzing, Peter, and Da Namgyal blazed a trail to the first Paldor peak expedition. Climbing to Paldor Peak is one of the most well-known and popular trekking routes in the Ruby Valley Ganesh Himal region.
We begin our Paldor peak expedition by driving from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, which takes approximately 6-7 hours. The road then crosses the Langtang River and heads towards Sabrubesi. The Bhote Kosi River then flows past the Tamang villages of Gatlang and Tangjet. Our path then heads north along the ridge before dropping into the forest above Mailung Khola. On the following day’s walk, we can also go to the valley occupied by the brunette under Paldor. After reaching the summit, a magnificent view rewards from Mt. (Fish Tail) that continue in the Mt. Annapurna range and to the peaks of the Khumbu area, including Mt. Shisapangma, Ganesh Himal, Pabil (7,101 m), Ganesh I (7,406 m), Lapsang Karpo (7,150 m), Ganesh V (6,950 m), and the brown hills of Tibet. After a successful journey, we return to Trishuli via the beautiful Tiru Danda and Pansing Bhanjyang paths.

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan international airport, you will be welcomed to this mountain country - Nepal! For the Paldor Peak Climbing, we need a special climbing permit so; therefore, this is the day for preparing the permit. After your breakfast, our city guide picks you from the hotel with private vehicles and takes to you world heritage site Swayambhunath, (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, Bauddhanath Stupa and if still time then take to you Kathmandu Durbar Square and back to Hotel with Best and Breakfast plan.
We will leave our hotel in the early morning and drive to Sybrubensi. A scenic drive along the foothills to Sybrubensi will be an exciting start to our trekking journey. The trail mostly passes through the bank of Trishuli River with the magnificent views of Ganesh Himal (7,422 m), green fields and small valleys. We will cross a few settlement areas like Dhunche and Betrawati on our way to Sybrubensi. Overnight at tented camp.
Today's road initially crosses the shore of Chilime Khola. We will cross a suspension bridge over Chilime Khola towards the north shore and we will ascend until we cross another suspension bridge towards the south. The trail passes through Gholjong Sango and follows a water channel that leads us to Tangjet. From here, we will ascend along the rice farmland, millet barley crossing many huge walls of Mani, carved stones and Lotus mandalas to our Gatlang destination. Overnight at tented camp.
After having our breakfast, we will continue along the path that passes through Khumbu Danda (3,739 m). From here, our path will go north along the ridge and then rise steeply to the west. Our hike will be along the wooded landscapes of pine, fir and rhododendrons, enjoying the beautiful views of Langtang and Annapurna to a newly built road. Following the path for a while, we will make a steep climb ascending to Somdang. Overnight at tented camp.
Today we will ascend to Lari from Somdang. The trail passes mainly through the rhododendron forests and continues along the tree, bushes and open fields. We will clearly see the majestic Himalayas, specifically Ganesh Himal (7,422 m), Manaslu (8,163 m) and others in the Annapurna range. The trail passes along the east side of Ganesh Himal (7,422 m) to Lari. It will take almost five to six hours to reach Lari. From Lari, we can clearly see the Paldor Peak (5,860 m). At higher elevation, we must acclimatize to the surroundings to make easy our walk. We will do a short day of hiking and rest in Lari. From here you can observe the magnificent views of the towering mountains and glacier Dom in this area. If you like you can also leisurely walk through the urban to observe the daily life of people. We will cross the final tree-line at this elevation. We will steeply ascend alongside the rocky ridges towards the north-east path alongside the moraines under the glaciers of Paldor Peak (5,860 m). The climb is nearly steep along the ridge-line. On achieving the junction of East and west Paldor glacier, we will continue to be at the tented camp.
Today, we will start our trek alongside the steep moraine slopes to the stunning campsites. The trail continues to climb along the boulder fields to a lake known as Fang. Our campsite will be set true to the east of Fang, enjoying the lovely view of towering peaks, the snowy glaciers, and lakes. We will exercise the usage of mountaineering gears for the remaining time underneath the training of our trek guide. Overnight at the tented camp.
From our excessive camp, we will comply with the path main the Paldor Glacier in the east. The path is steep with loose rocks and challenging snow along the trail. We need to be careful to truly follow the directions of the guide while summiting the peak. Continuing along the path we will subsequently arrive at the peak. The stretching views of the mountains peaks like Machhapuchhre Himal (6,997 m), Shisapangma (8,013 m) and the brown hills of Tibet can be without problems seen. After spending some time on the top and admiring the splendour of nature, we will descend lower back to the Base camp. We will select a campsite set up our camp and then overnight at the tented camp.
This is the extra reserve day if in case of bad weather, otherwise is the expedition is success in time we will continue to flow our original itinerary. Even if we have this extra day you can do something either in Trek or Kathmandu valley Sightseeing.
After taking part in the beautiful mountain views, we will retrace our course alongside the moraines to attain Somdang. The route will be steeply descending so we should be careful and watch our step. On crossing the manganese mine, we will stumble upon a few green vegetation and waterfalls. On attaining Somdang, we will continue to be in a tented camp.
The steeply descending path leading to a road and will continue to the woody landscapes main us to Khumpu Danda. We will as soon as more retrace the equal course which we made the ascent to Somdang. The trail zigzag around the Khumbu Danda will take us to our target places Gatlang Village. Enjoying the close by daily life and food, we will find out a suitable vicinity for camp set up.
