Ganjala Pass Trek is one of the most challenging hiking destinations in the Langtang region. The Langtang Ganja la Pass Trekking runs from Syabru Besi to Melamchi Bridge. Ganja la Pass Trek is an excellent blend of low-cost and high-impact. In Kyngjing, you will spend an acclimatization day before crossing the Ganjala pass. It will aid you in dealing with future heights exceeding 5000 m. Hiking over the Ganjala Pass route there is no tea house for a couple of days. As a result, you will have to eat camping food along the path. However, no unique issues should arise because the group includes an experienced guide and porter who will assist in any emergency.
The primary features of the Ganja la Pass Trek area are also among the best in terms of flora and fauna. The major attractions include the Red Panda, Himalayan Black Bear, Deer, Ibisbill, Snow Partridge, and Scarlet Finch. “Birdlife Nepal” has also reported 380 bird species in the Langtang Valley. As a result, ten species were globally and 49 nationally threatened. Snow ridges straddle raging torrents of high passes shrouded in mist, crystalline lakes, and glaciated mountain giants at the valley’s upper reaches.
We descend to the Melamchi valley after passing across the Ganjala pass and visit the Melamchi. Residents in this area practice Tibetan Buddhism, and we can observe a historic monastery and gompa during our journey. So keep in mind that when travelling through Tarqegyang, we will be visiting the entire Melamchi area. After crossing the Melamchi Bridge, everyone returned to Kathmandu. I hope you will get many experiences along the Ganjala Pass journey.
After arriving at Tribhuvan Airport, our representative will take you to a hotel in Thamel where you will be offered refreshments. At the end of the day, a group meeting will be held, which will explain in detail the trekking to “Ganjala Pass”, after which a general lunch will take place. Spend the night in the hotel.
After breakfast, we will have a walk around the city with a guide. We will explore the most historically and culturally significant corners of Kathmandu-Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, Bodnath, and other attractions, including the Patan Valley, moving around the city in private cars. At the end of the day, upon returning to the hotel, you can relax or do some shopping in the nearby shops.
At dawn, we will go to Syabra Besi by local bus via the Nepalese narrow Pasang Lham motorway. Having passed along the coast of the Trisuli River, we will find ourselves in Syabra Besi, where Tamang and llamas live. We will spend the night here.
After breakfast, the main part of our trip begins. We will ascend to the Lama Hotel through the dense forests of rhododendrons, oaks, pines, and junipers. For a while, we will even see Langtang Lirung. We spent the night at the hotel.
After breakfast, we will begin to climb to the Langtang Valley along the same road as yesterday. As you move, the mountains seem to get bigger and closer with every step. From the valley, you can see every mountain in Langtang, flooded with yellowish-reddish sun rays.
We will go to watch the dawn in the Himalayas, and after breakfast, we will have breakfast and prepare to move on to Kangjung Gompa. The higher we go, the more spectacular the surrounding landscape becomes. Also, along the way, we will wrap up in an old monastery, and after a few minutes, we will be there. We will also spend the night in Kangjung Gompa.
Before making the passage through Ganja La, tomorrow we will spend a day of rest in the Gangjung Gompa. We will make a training climb to Chirkuri and go back down, which will allow us to better adapt to the height. And at the end of the day, we’ll go to enjoy the sunset on the terrace of the tea house, where we will spend the night.
From Kangjung Gompa, we go down and go through the thickets of greenery. We will have to prepare and do other work ourselves since there are no tea houses or other settlements along this stretch of the road.
At dawn, we will go to the Ganjal pass. Gradually, the height will increase, and finally, we will be at the top of the pass, from where the magnificent villages located below are perfectly visible. After a short break at the top, we will go down to the Keldang area. We will spend the night in the camp itself.
All today's route runs through a dense forest. Here we will set up a camp in which in the evening we can enjoy the lighted bonfires and a hearty dinner with all the members of the group.
Today we will be in the area of local residents. Holding at an altitude of about 4100 m near the pass, we can spend more time enjoying stunning views of mountains and hills. We will spend the night in one of the tea houses in Tarkegyang.
Today's route is relatively easier. We will not experience sudden changes in height. We just cross a few small streams and pass through the beautiful forest in Sermantang. This is a village of Sherpas where there are also several ancient monasteries overlooking the Dzhugal-Himal mountain range.
Through cereal crops, we leisurely go down to Melamchi Bazar, where the bulk of the trip ends. This is a very developed place where there is everything that your heart desires. We will have a farewell party for all participants and spend the rest of the night here.
The trails pass through grazing land with terraced fields and villages towards Melamchi Bazaar. After reaching the Melamchi Bazaar, drive back to Kathmandu. I hope this gives you a remarkable journey in your lifetime. In the evening, we offer you a farewell dinner with the guide and office personnel in a Nepalese cultural restaurant.
Every beautiful journey has its end, and this is the last day of your stay in this beautiful country, Nepal, and the completion of the awesome Langtang Ganjala pass trek.
