The tour begins with your arrival in Kathmandu - the capital city and the starting point of mostly liked trekking packages towards the north. You will be picked up from Tribhuvan International Airport and transferred to the hotel by our representative. You will enjoy a warm welcome with Nepali delicious cuisine. After having a wholesome breakfast we will be heading toward Lukla. The flight experience towards Lukla itself is thrilling as you will see the breathtaking views of the Himalayas and scenic landscapes. After arriving at Lukla you will hike to Phakding which is a short hike and you will stay overnight there.
Today we walk through pine forests and settlements on our way to crossing Dudh Koshi which will lead us to the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. Walking along Dudhkoshi and Bhotekoshi upstream we will climb a steep hill. The trail will take us to Namche Bazaar and we will stay there in the lodge overnight.
Acclimatization is very essential while trekking at a higher altitude to prevent altitude-related sickness. We mark this day for acclimatization and we can ramble in Namche Bazaar getting familiar with people and the atmosphere. We will make our side trip towards the Everest view hotel to observe the magnificent view of the snow-covered mountains. We will also visit Hilary school and Khumjung monastery which houses Yeti scalps. We can also visit the Tourist visitor centre which provides information about the first climbers of Everest, the traditions, the culture of the people living in this region and information about animals and plants found in this region.
We will leave Namche Bazaar and walks up to Tsorcamp then the trails begin easy till to Sanasa. After that, your trails lead you to Gokyo valley ascending to Mong-La pass and descending to Phortse Tenga. Along the trails, you can enjoy the view of Mt Ama Dablam which is the jewellery of the Everest region. In Phortse Tenga you can have lunch after that again ascend to the Dole passing through the beautiful Subtropical Rhododendron forest. This is a beautiful forest along the way you can enjoy flora and fauna, one important thing is its big chance to see the rarest animal which is Call “Musk Deer” and other species too.
This is just a half-day walk to Machhermo so after your regular breakfast trails lead you gradually ascend but after the Dole tree line is slowly going off. Along the way, you can have a great view of Mt Cho-Oyu (8,201 m) which is the world’s 6th highest Mountain. After reaching Machhermo you can have lunch and rest for a while then go for a small acclimatize hike.
Today we head towards Gokyo Lake this is the crystal clear blue water altitude lake. The trails present you with beautiful views of the Himalayas and waterfalls. When you reach the Gokyo you can see the amazing close-up view of Mt. Cho Oyu. The trails look easy but you can feel harder and more challenging because of the altitude and dry air. But after rest, you can walk around and enjoy the amazing panorama view of the Himalayas.
Early morning hike up to Gokyo Ri for beautiful panoramic Sunrise views over the mountain. This day is your dreamiest day for reaching the final highest elevation which offers surrounding amazing Panorama views including Mt. Cho Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Changtse, Pumori, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makulu, Kusum Kanguru, Thamserku, Kangtega, Taboche, Cholatse and Ngazumpa Glacier which is the biggest glacier the world which is created (38 km). After the exploration of Gokyo Ri back to the Hotel and have breakfast then same way walk down to Dole.
From Dole, we descend on a steep path to Phortse Thanga passing through a rhododendrons forest with waterfalls. Along the trails, you can see many florae and fauna like mountain goats (Himalayan Tahr), Musk deer, and pheasants, with many species. After Phortse Tenga ascends to Mong La which presents a good view of Taboche, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kangtega mountains. Then we walk descend to reach Sanasa then you’ll catch the highway of Everest base camp. So we continue to walk to reach Namche along the way you should look back to see the last views of Lhotse, Everest and other mountains.
This is the day when we will say goodbye to the Sherpa people and the Sagarmatha region. We will head towards Lukla and stay there for a night. We will enjoy warm and delicious meals with local drinks. On this day we will mostly descend a downhill trail and crosses several suspension bridges and villages.
This day marks the end of our stay in the Khumbu region. We will catch our early domestic flight for Kathmandu. We will be staying at a hotel in Thamel and preparing for your homebound. You can as well buy a souvenir from the shop and enjoy drinks and Nepali cuisine. If you like you can as well enjoy city life by visiting clubs or pubs.
After breakfast, we will prepare for our trek and collect the necessary things our checklist needed for our journey. We will wrap up the preparation by lunch. We will also visit Basantapur Durbar square, a historical site built around medieval times by Malla and Shah Kings. The Durbar square is a series of temples and palaces where you can observe the art in the form of woodwork, stonework and etc.
