When you arrive in Kathmandu, our representative will pick you up from Tribhuvan International Airport and take you to your respective hotel. Our journey towards Pokhara will start early in the morning. A tourist bus will take about 7-8 hours to reach there. The distant view of mountains along the way and beautiful green hills will entice you throughout the journey. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you will be taken to the respective hotel near Phewa Lake, where you can enjoy the beautiful evening scenes of Phewa Lake and its surroundings.
After having breakfast, a few hours’ drive will take you to Nayapul, which is the entrance for most of the trekking packages in the Annapurna Region and also the Ghorepani Poon Hill entrance as well. Our real hike begins from Nayapul and, with 3–4 hours of walking, we will arrive at Tikhedhunga. While walking towards Tikhedhunga, you will come across many small waterfalls, beautiful scenery of flora and many species of fauna. You will pass through Birethanti. From Tikhedhunga, we will walk uphill towards Ghorepani, which will be somewhat challenging as we walk on stone-paved long stairs. The further trek will then lead us to Poonhill, which is the highlight of this journey. Although the walk is short, the uphill trail can be somewhat challenging. At Poon Hill, you will be welcomed by up-close views of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Nilgiri, and many other neighbouring Himalayas. You can stay for a while, taking pictures of the Gurung community and interacting with them; they offer rent of their traditional dress to take pictures. The thatched roofs of mud-clad houses and the rhododendron forest along the way, getting so much closer to the clouds, will be an unforgettable experience. After spending some time at Poonhill, we will move towards Chuile for an overnight stay.
We will leave this lofty Gurung village and head towards the last village of Sinuwa. We might be able to meet many other tourists travelling along the same route since it is the most popular travel package. We will cross a suspension bridge over the Chhomrong River and arrive at Sinuwa Danda. Enjoy the stunning view of green hills and mountains while spending your night at Sinuwa.
We will be walking through the Rhododendron forest with shrubs and bamboo trees mostly on this day's trails going ascending. We pass the Himalayan Hotel and hike towards Deurali. We will stay at Deurali overnight.
Walking along the riverbed and ascending steeply towards the mountainside will be somewhat strenuous, but the reward you will get after reaching Annapurna Base Camp will make up for your effort. We will enjoy the magnificent views of majestic Machhapuchre along with Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharva Chuli, and Gandapurna. On this day, we will retrace our path to return back to Deurali and walk towards bamboo. Our walk will be mostly downhill, so it will be relatively easier than the previous one. We will enjoy the diverse landscapes. We will walk towards a serene forest and winding path and eventually arrive at Bamboo for an overnight stay.
After spending a night in Bamboo, we will take an uphill to Kuldahar, followed by a downhill to Chhomrong Khola, and then we will climb a stone-paved steep trail that will welcome us to Chhomrong. The trail then descends to Jhinu Danda, where we will stay overnight. We can walk further downhill for 15-20 minutes and enjoy the hot springs to soothe our tired bodies.
This is the final day of your hike in the mountains, so after breakfast, we cross the longest suspension bridge in the Annapurna region at Kumrung Khola and gradually ascend to Matkiu for a 1-hour walk, then we take a taxi or bus to drive back to the Leisure City of Pokhara.
